Simcity Calgary: 1900-1920

In order to show off how the city progresses based on Calgary's current growth pattern, the next 5 days worth of blog posts will be mainly pictures to illustrate just what is going on. The point of this week's blog posts is to highlight how the city would look like in SimCity. How I developed was completely random and was based on trying to figure out where to put things. I hope you enjoy this week's blog posts because I had a lot of fun playing with SimCity 2000 again.

Right when Calgary started in 1900, aliens were already probing the land. Thankfully no one was hurt.

This is what the budget looks like in 1905. Modest compared to what they are in real life.

So here's what Calgary looks like as of 1905. There really isn't much going on right now.

The citizens love me so much, they raised funds for a private mansion so that the mayor could move in. I won't see that from Calgarians these days.

900 Calgarians are killed in an earthquake in 1909. Just so you know Calgary will never have earthquakes. Wait for several million years, then we might.

Calgary 1910. Lots of dark spots. Means people are abandoning their homes. My skills are getting rusty.

Yet another earthquake in 1911. When will these stop? Where's the snow?

Calgary 1915 looks pretty good so far. We're slowly growing

By 1920, something weird is happening where a certain part of the city is not getting any electricity even though there's enough electricity going around. Come on Enmax!
